Oral Surgery

No more nasty surprises in dental surgery thanks to modern anaesthesia methods

The modern methods now available to administer anaesthesia prevent any nasty surprises when undergoing dental surgery. Pain during surgery is completely eliminated and, when at home, medications can keep the symptoms of pain under control.
All the equipment is sealed in order to ensure sterility right up to the time of use.

Oral and dental surgery deals with:

  • Extraction of teeth that are compromised or destroyed and cannot be saved by adopting any other treatment (for example, through endodontic treatment);

  • Extraction of root fragments;

  • Removal of roots or of teeth that are fully or partially embedded in the bone, such as the so-called “impacted third molars” (wisdom teeth);

  • Removal of the apex in case of teeth affected by inflammation, if they cannot undergo endodontic treatment (apicoectomy);

  • Removal of dental cysts, sack-like formations which might affect a tooth or its supporting tissue;

  • Removal of  follicular cysts, cysts characterised by the presence of a tooth having its crown inside the cyst cavity while the root is outside and in contact with the surrounding bone;

  • Removal of radicular cysts, cysts of inflammatory origin, which appear at the root of teeth and are ascribable to granulomatous processes;

  • Removal of residual cysts, radicular cysts which remain after the extraction of the related tooth and are therefore isolated within the bone context;

  • Removal of traumatic cysts, caused by trauma or by a wound;

  • Removal of tumors and neoformations of the oral cavity;

  • Exposure of impacted teeth (during orthodontic treatment);

  • Pre-prosthetic surgery: in some cases, it might be necessary to graft biocompatible material (autologous or heterologous bone, platelet-derived growth factor, etc.) in order to increase the amount of bone available for the placement of implants, in both the upper and lower jaw;

  • Frenectomy: removal of median and lingual frenula;

  • Osteoplasty (bone reshaping) for pre-prosthetic purposes.
